Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's solar energy production capacity has increased 32 times, making India the third-largest solar energy producer in the world. The target is to achieve 500 GW of total renewable energy production by 2030. Aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision, Madhya Pradesh is creating a new history in the field of solar energy. Over the past decade, the state's renewable energy capacity has grown more than 14 times. The state government's strong policies, investment-friendly environment, and technological innovations are transforming it into the Soorya Ka Warad Pradesh (Land Blessed by the Sun).
At the GIS Summit in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh’s technology-agnostic renewable energy policy has attracted significant investment proposals. Prime Minister Modi highlighted the tremendous progress in India's energy sector over the past decade. He mentioned that over the last 10 years, the renewable energy sector has seen an investment of USD 70 billion (over Rs 5 trillion), creating more than 1 million jobs in the clean energy sector. He also emphasized Madhya Pradesh’s significant role in this growth, noting that the state currently has a power generation capacity of approximately 31,000 MW, with 30% coming from green energy.
