Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that it was through the knowledge imparted by Guru Maharshi Sandipani that Lord Shri Krishna attained the revered title of Jagadguru (Universal Teacher). On the occasion of Guru Purnima, the Chief Minister visited the Maharshi Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain, where he offered prayers and performed Aarti at the shrine of Lord Krishna’s guru, Maharshi Sandipani. The rituals were conducted by Pandit Rajesh Joshi. CM Dr. Yadav also visited the ancient Shri Kundeshwar Mahadev Temple to offer his prayers.
The Chief Minister shared that he has been visiting the Sandipani Ashram regularly on Guru Purnima for several years. He remarked that the ashram’s legacy is rich, proud, and unique. Around 5,000 years ago, Lord Shri Krishna, Shri Sudama, and Shri Balram received their education here under the guidance of Maharshi Sandipani. Lord Krishna mastered 14 branches of knowledge and 64 arts in a very short time under the tutelage of his guru. The Ashram, he said, is a living testament to holistic student development.
CM Dr. Yadav reiterated that it was this sacred education that bestowed upon Lord Krishna the stature of a Vishwaguru (World Teacher). He emphasized that today, India is once again reconnecting with its glorious past.The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt wishes to all on the auspicious festival of Guru Purnima. MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluheda, Shri Sanjay Agrawal and Shri Rajpal Singh Sisodia, along with officials and citizens were present during the visit.
Members of the priestly family, who are also descendants of Maharshi Sandipani, informed that the Ashram hosts special events every year on Guru Purnima. On Thursday morning, the Ashram held elaborate worship rituals and Panchamrit Abhishek. For students beginning their education, a special ‘Slate Worship’ was also performed, honoring the traditional commencement of learning.
