On the occasion of Lord Mahakal’s royal procession in Ujjain on Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav extended his greetings to the people of the nation and the state. He prayed to Lord Mahakal for the well-being and prosperous life of all citizens of Madhya Pradesh.
CM Dr. Yadav said that across the country, processions of Lord Mahadev are taken out during the month of Shravan from full moon to full moon. However, in Ujjain, in keeping with both northern and southern traditions, the processions of Baba Mahakal also continue on the two Mondays of Bhadrapada. Today, Lord Mahakal, in his majestic royal form, undertook the concluding procession of the season, toured the city, and blessed his devotees with divine darshan.
The Chief Minister added that the state government made elaborate arrangements for the grand procession and welcomed it with great enthusiasm. Flowers were showered from a helicopter along the procession route. This year, Lord Mahakal will once again bless devotees with a procession on the occasion of Vijayadashami. The Chief Minister prayed that Lord Mahakal’s divine grace always remain upon the people of the state, ensuring their welfare and removing their sorrows.On Monday, August 18, at 4 pm, the royal procession was taken out with great pomp and devotion. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed worship of Lord Chandramouleshwara at the Sabha Mandap. As Lord Chandramouleshwara, seated in the Silver Palaki, came out to meet his devotees, the entire city of Ujjain resonated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” Devotees, overwhelmed by emotion, had darshan of the three-eyed Lord Shiva and felt spiritually uplifted.
