Patna, Feb 23 (Reporter) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhari on Sunday said that the state government would simplify the lease policy of land for Makhana farming so that those associated with this sector could get its maximum benefits. Chaudhary while addressing a function organised at Makhana Research Centre in Darbhanga, said that Bihar was the producer of 85 percent of total Makhana production in the country. A historic decision taken by the Narendra Modi government to constitute Makhana Board would further help in increasing Makhana farming in Bihar, he added. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the quality and quantity of Makhana would also get a further boost after the constitution of the Makhana board in Bihar. Several suggestions had been received by the state government to simplify the lease policy of land for Makhana farming, he added. " State government is seriously thinking of simplification of lease policy of land for Makhana farming and a decision in this connection would be taken soon ", Chaudhary said adding that fish farming was also being promoted.
