India’s defence spending has increased: Govt

New Delhi, Feb 9 (Reporter) The Government on Friday informed the Lok Sabha that the defence spending of the country has increased in the current year compared to the past years. Citing Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt in a written reply to question by Natarajan P R said that India's military expenditure for the year 2022 was USD 813.63 billion. He stated that in the year 2019, the expenditure was USD 714.68 billion while it was USD 729.37 in 2020 and USD 763.48 billion in the year 2021. "The increase in defence spending is attributable to the requirement of funds projected by the services and the availability of resources with the Government." the Minister informed...////...
