New Delhi, July 4 (Reporter) India is hosting the Sixth EAS Conference on Maritime Security Cooperation in Mumbai from July 4-5.
The conference is being co-chaired with the Australian Department of Foreign Ministry and Trade, and the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, in association with Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) think-tank and the National Maritime Foundation.
The conference was inaugurated by Secretary (East) Jaideep Mazumder today.
The Conference is aimed at promoting cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and support implementation of the EAS Plan of Action, the MEA spokesperson posted on X.
“Government officials and experts from think tanks and academia from EAS Participating Countries are deliberating on six thematic sessions related to Maritime Security.”
The East Asia Summit is the only leader-led forum in the Indo-Pacific that brings together all key partners to discuss political, security and economic issues of strategic importance. The EAS comprises 18 members: the 10 ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) and eight dialogue partners (Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Russia and the United States)...////...
