New Delhi, July 4 (Reporter) The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (Registered) has expressed profound grief and outrage following a tragic stampede at a satsang in Hathras, which claimed several lives and left numerous others injured.
"Such incidents have become a fate for the Indian public," stated Professor Mohammad Sulaiman, Vice President of the organisation.
He criticised the administration, saying, "If the administration had been prompt and proper police arrangements were in place, this incident would not have occurred, and so many innocent lives would not have been lost."
In a statement issued on Thursday, Prof Sulaiman emphasised that timely intervention could have prevented the catastrophe, while criticising the administration for failing to ensure proper police arrangements and healthcare management.
"Timely treatment could have saved many lives," he added.
Demanding justice, Prof Sulaiman called for "the harshest punishment to those responsible," and urged the government to provide "compensation of Rs one crore for each deceased and injured person."
He stressed the need for "appropriate and timely treatment for the injured."
Mohammad Shamsul Zuha, Treasurer of the organisation, highlighted the humanitarian imperative, urging Muslim groups to "stand with the injured and the bereaved in this hour of distress" and to "use their resources to meet their needs."
He criticised the recurrent lack of adequate arrangements during public gatherings and religious events, insisting that "such incidents keep occurring."
