Hyderabad, Mar 27 (Reporter) In a humane gesture, BRS Working President and former Minister K T Rama Rao (KTR) distinguished himself as a leader with a vision by pledging to donate his organs on the floor of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. His announcement came during a discussion on the Telangana transplantation of human organs bill on Thursday, a significant legislative step aimed at regulating and promoting organ donation in the state. KTR used the occasion to emphasise the need for awareness and active participation in organ donation. Addressing the Assembly, he stated, “As representatives of the people, we must lead by example. It is our duty to foster awareness and inspire citizens in our constituencies to embrace this noble cause.” Demonstrating his commitment, KTR proposed a special initiative to the Speaker, suggesting the launch of a campaign within the Assembly premises to encourage MLAs to register as organ donors. “If members are willing, let us initiate a signature drive right here in the Assembly,” he urged, reinforcing his call to action.
