Srinagar, Feb 21 (Reporter) Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir V K Birdi, chaired back-to-back two high-level joint security review meetings in Srinagar and Baramulla, focusing on strengthening coordination and operational efficiency between security forces. The meeting in Srinagar was co-chaired by IG CRPF Mitesh Kumar attended by senior officials from both the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), including DIG CKR Srinagar Rajiv Panday, DIG CRPF South Parveen Kumar Singh, DIG CRPF North Sudhir Kumar, SSP Srinagar, SSP Budgam, SSP Ganderbal, and the Commandants of CRPF, The primary objective of the meeting was to assess and enhance the existing security measures in the region, with a focus on improving coordination between the J&K Police and CRPF. The goal was to strengthen the collaborative efforts of both forces in maintaining law and order, as well as ensuring peace in the Kashmir Valley. A comprehensive review of the current security situation was conducted, focusing on joint operations and strategies to improve operational coordination between the forces, ensuring a swift and effective response to emerging security challenges. Emphasis was placed on refining counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations, with particular attention given to intelligence sharing and logistical planning. The IGP Kashmir and IG CRPF reiterated their commitment to working together to uphold peace and security in the region through joint strategic planning and inter-agency cooperation. Earlier during the day a similar high-level joint security review meeting was held in Baramulla, to assess the joint security preparedness and operational capabilities of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). During his visit, IGP Birdi chaired a high-level joint security review meeting at Baramulla, focusing on enhanced coordination, joint resource utilisation, and operational efficiency, a police spokesman said. The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Police and CRPF, who deliberated on joint deployment strategies, operational preparedness, and emerging security challenges. The IGP commended the efforts of both forces in maintaining law and order and stressed the need for continued collaboration to strengthen the region's security framework. IGP Birdi also reviewed operational readiness and capabilities of the Special Operations Group (SOG). He expressed satisfaction with their high level of training and professionalism, acknowledging their critical role in counter-terror operations. Discussions also included the summer operation strategy, outlining key security tactics and contingency plans for the upcoming season. Speaking on the occasion, IGP Birdi praised the dedication and professionalism of the personnel, emphasising the importance of sustained collaboration and proactive measures to counter evolving security challenges.
