New Delhi, Jan 31 (Reporter) Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said on Friday that there was an ideological fight going on in the country between the Congress and the BJP. He said, while the Congress was for the Constitution, harmony, brotherhood and love, the BJP, on the other hand, was spreading hatred and fear in the country. Addressing a public meeting at Madipur here this evening, Gandhi also took on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, accusing them of committing the biggest liquor scam and indulging in corruption. He reminded the people how Kejriwal landed in the parking of the Sheesh Mahal, while traveling in a small Wagon-R car. He appealed people to vote for and support the Congress, reminding them of the glorious era of progress and development under Sheila Dikshit’s rule. He said all the infrastructure that Dikshit had created in Delhi has been destroyed by the AAP government. Accusing the BJP government of spreading hatred and violence in the country, he asserted that their purpose was to divert public attention from the pressing issues like unemployment and rising prices. He said even the media did not talk about such issues. Gandhi called for representation with participation and power to the marginalised people including the Dalits, the backwards, the tribal people and the minorities. He claimed despite constituting about 90 percent of the country’s population, their say in the decision-making was just about six percent. Referring to the AAP, he displayed a poster of the party, where there were the photographs of nine leaders being described as “9-rattan” (nine jewels). He alleged that out of these “nine-jewels”, there was not a single person from the Dalit, the backward, the Adivasi or the minority community. He claimed that AAP was also a party of just a small minority of 2-3 percent people. He stated that both Modi and Kejriwal only lied to people and made false promises. He referred to Kejriwal’s promises made five years ago, like cleaning the Yamuna river. He said now Kejriwal was accusing others of polluting the Yamuna water, while the truth is that it was his responsibility. He told the people that he and the Congress party makes promises about only those things which, it believes, it can do. Rahul Gandhi stressed that the Congress has promised to make direct payment to women in Delhi and provide cooking gas on subsidised prices, once the party government is formed in the national capital. He appealed the people to vote for Congress candidates in the Assembly elections...////...
