Himachal: Four toll barriers in Sirmaur auctioned for Rs 31.90 Crore

Nahan, March 2 (Reporter) The auction of four toll barriers in Sirmaur district, located on the borders of Himachal Pradesh with Uttarakhand and Haryana, has netted a price of Rs 31.90 crore, generating an additional revenue of Rs 19.79 lakh for the government, officials said on Sunday. The State Tax and Excise Department had set the reserve price at Rs 31.70 crore, which was 7.5% higher than the previous year. The auction took place at the Rural Development Authority office on Saturday, with Additional Commissioner of South Zone, Vivek Kumar, presiding as Collector. Acting Deputy Commissioner of Sirmaur, L.R. Verma, served as the Presiding Officer and Observer. Assistant Commissioner Prem Kayath and Deputy Commissioner (State Tax and Excise) Himanshu R. Panwar oversaw the process, along with other officials. Among the toll barriers, Kala Amb was auctioned for Rs 15.95 crore to Ramesh Chauhan of Meerut, against a reserve price of Rs 15.85 crore. Govind Ghat (Paonta Sahib) was sold for Rs 8.63 crore, slightly above its reserve price of Rs 8.62 crore. Bahral was auctioned to Vinod Kumar Malik of Muzaffarnagar for Rs 7.08 crore, exceeding its reserve price of Rs 6.98 crore. Minas toll barrier, with a base price of Rs 23.91 lakh, was sold for Rs 23.98 lakh to Antar Singh of Shillai. Last year, the toll barriers were auctioned for Rs 29.49 crore.
