Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that tourism plays a crucial role in strengthening the economy. Along with boosting national income, tourism also generates large-scale employment opportunities. Tourism and pilgrimage are gateways to prosperity for our nation, especially for Madhya Pradesh. Being the ‘Heart of India’, Madhya Pradesh is giving special priority to tourism development to elevate its global identity. The state government is continuously working to expand and promote tourism through inclusive efforts that connect all sections of society. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that investment proposals worth Rs. 3,500 crore were received at the Gwalior Tourism Conclave. Letters of Allotment (LOAs) were issued to six investors, paving the way for investments of over Rs. 60 crore and significant job creation.
CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the two-day Regional Tourism Conclave at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University campus, Gwalior, on Saturday. He said Madhya Pradesh’s cultural, historical, and religious heritage is a major attraction at the global level. Preserving and promoting this heritage will not only make the state economically self-reliant but also strengthen the vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar, Viksit and Samruddh Bharat’.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, ‘National Small Industry Day’ is being celebrated today, and on this auspicious occasion, Gwalior is hosting its first ‘Regional Tourism Conclave’. He noted that Gwalior, located close to the national capital, is home to the historic fort built during Raja Man Singh Tomar’s era, renowned worldwide for its unique architecture. Many powerful rulers were once imprisoned in this fort. CM Dr. Yadav further recalled that India’s old Parliament House (1912) was inspired by the design of Morena’s Chausath Yogini Temple, while the new Parliament building has been constructed on the design of Vidisha’s temple, with its dome resembling the Sanchi Stupa.
