Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda will be celebrated across Madhya Pradesh on November 15 with grandeur, reverence, and enthusiasm. He directed that the Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas celebrations be organized in a grand and culturally befitting manner, with community rallies in all parliamentary constituencies showcasing tribal traditions and pride.
Reviewing the event’s outline at Samatva Bhavan, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government’s initiatives for the welfare and development of tribal communities should be highlighted through these celebrations. Dr. Yadav was holding discussions with tribal ministers and public representatives regarding the preparations for the anniversary year of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Tribal Affairs Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister for Public Health Engineering Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, Minister for Women & Child Development Smt. Nirmala Bhuria, Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri Nagar Singh Chauhan, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Radha Singh, MLA and State President Shri Hemant Khandelwal and other Janpratinidhis. Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Savitri Thakur and Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey joined the meeting virtually.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed officials to organize block-level marches and district-level seminars and conferences highlighting the life and contributions of tribal heroes. He directed that sports events, as well as Dhol-Madal and Bansuri (flute) competitions, be organised to promote traditional tribal arts and sports. The Chief Minister further directed that outstanding tribal youth excelling in various fields be honored. He also called for organising self-help group conventions, handicraft exhibitions and activities focused on tribal folk arts.
