Jammu, May 30 (Reporter) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the government will announce a package for the families affected in the Pakistan shelling and ensure that the development of Jammu and Kashmir will continue.
Shah also handed over appointment letters to the families affected in shelling during ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Interacting with the shelling-affected families in Poonch, Shah said, “We understand that the relief and jobs cannot compensate the pain and damage you have suffered; you have lost your loved ones. The Jammu and Kashmir government, the government of India and the sentiments of the nation are connected with the people of this border belt.”
Shah said the government will soon announce a separate package for the shelling-affected families, adding, “we condemn the Pahalgam terror attack and the attack on civilian areas, religious places, schools, by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir in which Poonch district was the worst affected.”
At least 14 civilians, including twin sisters, died in the Pakistani shelling in Poonch district.
“I want to make it clear that despite the Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 innocent civilians were killed, the development work will not stop in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Shah.
“I admire the courage of people of Poonch and its administration; the way they responded to the Pakistan shelling,” said the Union Home Minister.
“Indian armed forces after the Pahalgam terror attack, very strategically and accurately gave a befitting reply and destroyed the infrastructure of terrorist organisations in Pakistan and the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir on May 7,” he said.
“Hundreds of terrorists were killed during Operation Sindoor,” he said adding, “our forces attacked terrorists, but Pakistan considered it an attack on itself and showed the world that they are sheltering terrorists.”
“India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a clear message that any attack on civilians will not be tolerated and will be responded to more effectively and with accuracy,” he said.
Shah also stated that soon after Narendra Modi took over as the Prime Minister, a decision on constructing bunkers in the border belts was taken, adding, “over 9,500 bunkers were constructed and they played a major role in protecting and saving the lives of the border residents.”
Shah said more bunkers will be constructed by the government in border areas.
“PM Modi has redefined India’s policy against terrorism that terror and trade cannot go together, terror and talks cannot go together and water and blood cannot flow together,” said Shah...////...
