Jammu, May 30 (Reporter) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that the government is committed to supporting and empowering security forces in their mission to safeguard national borders. Shah was on a two-day visit to the Jammu region. Addressing BSF troops, Shah commended their extraordinary bravery and unwavering patriotism. He highlighted the significant impact of destroying more than 118 Pakistani posts and surveillance equipment in just three days' actions that left Pakistan struggling to gather intelligence for an extended period. Shah, however, emphasized that such valour is possible only when there is a deep sense of duty and a readiness for the supreme sacrifice. Earlier, Shah met with the border residents affected by Pakistan's shelling. He said that the government will soon announce a special package for people affected. Shah handed over the appointment letters to the next of kin of those killed in cross-border firing.
