Members of the Parliamentary Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes paid a courtesy visit to Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel at the Banquet Hall of Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Governor Shri Patel extended a warm welcome to the members upon their arrival and held an introductory interaction with them. He sought information regarding the representation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in both Houses of Parliament and discussed matters related to the committee’s visit and activities in Madhya Pradesh.
Committee Chairman Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste informed the Governor that the Committee is on a study tour of Madhya Pradesh and Goa from November 3 to 7, to review the status of representation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The Committee arrived in Bhopal following its stay in Pachmarhi. During the visit, the Committee is studying the functioning of various ministries, departments, public undertakings, organizations and autonomous institutions of the State Government.
Among those present on the occasion were Committee members Smt. Pratima Mondal, Shri Jagannath Sarkar, Shri Harish Chandra Meena, Shri Govind M. Karjol, Shri D. Prasada Rao, Smt. Sumitra Balmik, Shri Mithlesh Kumar, Shri R. Narzari, Smt. Phulodevi Netam, and Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, along with delegation Secretary Shri D.R. Shekhar and Deputy Secretary Shri Mohan Arumla.
