Georgian oppn leader Japaridze detain at protests in Tbilisi

Tbilisi, Dec 2 (Reporter) Georgian police have detained one of the leaders of the opposition Coalition for Change, Zurab Japaridze, during the protests in Tbilisi, Georgian media reported on Monday. Japaridze was detained on Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue in Tbilisi, where the protesters had moved from Rustaveli Avenue. Footage aired by Georgian television channels showed the politician being detained along with several protesters after they blocked the avenue with garbage bins. Protests erupted in Tbilisi late on Thursday after Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that the government had decided to postpone debates on the opening of membership negotiations with the European Union until 2028...////...
