Jammu, Apr 8 (Reporter) The FICCI-FLO, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, in a joint initiative with Unati Agri Allied and Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society Limited (UAMMCL) and Jammu and Kashmir Dairy Cooperative Federation limited (JKDCF) will boost economic growth as well as women empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir.
The FICCI-FLO, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, UAMMCL and JKDCF have executed two separate bilateral Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to commemorate ongoing “International year of Cooperatives -2025” (UN Charter).
As per the official communiqué issued by the FICCI-FLO JKL, the MOU was signed between Aarti Chowdhary Chairperson, FICCI-FLO JKL and Vikrant Dogra, Chairman, JKDCF and UAMMCL in the presence of Babila Rakwal, Commissioner Secretary, Department of Cooperatives, A S Reen, Director Agriculture, Jammu and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakwal said that “In last three years the cooperative eco system has witnessed overhauling since the formation of the new Ministry of Cooperation, with over 54 schemes getting launched at the national level, which can prove fruitful for the entire economy, especially rural areas where cooperatives get natural acceptance.”
The civil society-led organisation like FICCI-FLO JKL coming out for helping cooperative societies at the grassroots level is evidence of the fact that cooperatives are now getting much-needed attention, which was necessary for their growth, especially in the current international year of cooperation, 2025, she stated.
Aarti Chowdhary said that the slogan for IYC-2025 is “The Cooperatives build a better world”, and the main objective of FICCI-FLO aligns with it, along with JKDCF and UAMMCL, which are time-tested cooperative organisations and will work hand in hand to facilitate woman leadership and capacity building in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dignitaries including Maj Gen Goverdan Singh Jamwal (retd), Bal Krishan (Additional, RCS), Tasbina Sheikh (DRCS), Ravi Shankar (AGM, NABARD) and Varuna Anand, former Chairperson and National Initiative Head for Partnership and Collaboration, were Varsha Bansal, Senior Vice Chairperson, Rupika Sahai, Vice Chairperson, Sona Mehta, Treasurer, Shipra Aggarwal, Joint Treasurer, Nandita Bajaj, Secretary, and Pooja Dewan, Joint Secretary, who were also present at the MOU signing...////...
