Mumbai, Jun 2 (Reporter) Few MLAs of rival NCP (SP) will likely join the Congress party after declaration of Lok Sabha election results on June four, claimed Sunil Tatkare, state president of NCP (AP), on Sunday.
He made this explosive claim during an informal chat with reporters here.
He said that four to five MLAs from Sharad Pawar's party are in touch with the Congress leadership and will leave the party after June four.
Tatkare further claimed that "a large group of NCP (SP) is preparing to go to the Congress. For past few days, these MLAs have been trying to meet Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. These MLAs are preparing to leave due to resentment within the party rank."
When asked about Tatkare's claim, party president Ajit Pawar said, "Even though I am national president, I do not know what party state president said. There are things I do not know either, so I won't say anything about it."
Meanwhile, replying to Tatkare's claim, NCP (SP) leader and former minister Anil Deshmukh asked him to wait a while as June four is not far away...////...
