Varanasi, June 14 (Reporter) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, directed officials to ensure that the Prime Minister's programme in Varanasi on June 18 is conducted systematically, with all necessary preparations completed on time. The CM also directed that proper security arrangements, as well as adequate provisions for shade, air, and water, be ensured during the "Kisan Samvad" programme at Mehdiganj in Rajatalab. He emphasised that farmers and the public attending the programme should not encounter any problems. He stressed the importance of completing all preparations on a priority basis through a campaign conducted on a war footing. Yogi directed preparations for a grand welcome across the entire city for the Prime Minister's first visit to Kashi after taking the oath for the third time. He also emphasised the need for special cleanliness arrangements before and after the Bakrid festival, directing the Municipal Corporation to ensure these measures are implemented. In light of the upcoming festival and the Prime Minister's visit, he directed the deployment of sufficient police personnel. With cleanliness as a priority, he directed the Municipal Corporation and Irrigation Department to clean the Varuna River. He also mandated an immediate resolution to the city's drinking water issues. Reviewing the status of drinking water and sewer projects under Amrit Yojana 2 in new urban areas, he emphasised achieving expected progress in these initiatives. The CM directed to speed up the work of pipe drinking water schemes to solve the problem of drinking water in rural areas and complete it. He also directed the officials to conduct regular monitoring to ensure the quality and timely completion of the work. In view of the problem of electricity, along with the instructions for an uninterrupted power supply, he also directed to ensure that there is no power cut under any circumstances; otherwise, accountability will be fixed. He emphasised expediting work by ensuring adequate manpower for all ongoing projects. He also directed accountability at every level to ensure the timely completion of the projects under construction. He proposed appointing nodal officers at the district level for each ongoing project to monitor progress and quality periodically. To address traffic congestion in the city, he directed finding effective solutions and holding accountable those responsible for traffic jams.
