Mumbai, Feb 3 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday directed to speed up the work of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and fulfil the goal of 'gharkul' with the help of Social Responsibility Fund.
Speaking at a review meeting of the flagship social sector schemes of the central and state governments in war room, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of 19.66 lakh houses for Maharashtra in phase two of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Rural.
So far, 16,81,531 houses have been approved, he said and directed to speed up the works under the scheme.
Fadnavis said that it is a matter of happiness that Maharashtra ranks first in the country in providing landless beneficiaries with places for houses.
However, the district collector and the chief executive officers should coordinate ways to provide land to the remaining beneficiaries immediately, he said.
He instructed district collectors to give priority to completion of houses in the districts where the target of houses is less.
Action should be taken to implement housing scheme even on vacant lands, he continued and directed to speed up the work by eliminating the problems in the Gharkul scheme.
He asked divisional commissioners to give priority to solve the land issues for housing schemes...////...
