Kolkata, June 11 (Reporter) EEPC India chairman Arun Kumar Garodia on Tuesday welcomed the re-appointment of Piyush Goyal as Union Minister of Commerce and Industry in the NDA government. "Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, India has strengthened its position as one of the key exporting nations in the world. The Minister's guidance immensely benefited the engineering exports industry during his previous term and would help it further scale new heights in his current term," Garodia said. Garodia said the two free trade pacts signed with the UAE and Australia have provided a big boost to the engineering sector. "Despite a difficult global trade situation last year when engineering exports to many countries declined for several months, shipments to the UAE and Australia remained positive primarily on account of new trade deals. Some more FTAs are in the pipeline, and we hope they will be finalised soon.
