DPC meeting, chaired by Dy CM Pawar, approves draft plan worth Rs 1128.84 cr

Mumbai, Jan 10 (Reporter) Maharashtra State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar gave their approval on Wednesday in the District Planning Committee (DPC) draft plan totaling Rs 1128.84 crore for Pune district. Out of 1128.84 crores, Rs 948 crore for Pune district under the General District Annual Plan for 2024–25, Rs 135 crore under the Scheduled Caste Scheme, and Rs 45.84 crore under the Tribal Sub-Plan were approved. The DPC meeting was chaired by Pawar in his office in Mantralya. Cooperative Minister Dilip Valse Patil, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakantdada Patil, Legislative Council Deputy Speaker Dr. Neelam Gorhe, and Additional Chief Secretary General Administration Department Nitin Gadre from the Ministry were among the top brass officials present. Under the general plan, rural development, public facilities, Rs 125 crores, Rs 141 crores for strengthening civic facilities, health facilities, Rs 51 crores, 16 lakhs, road development, Rs 105 crores, non-conventional energy and energy development, Rs 95 crores, tourism development, Rs 53 crores, 44 lakhs, Green Maharashtra, Rs 62 crores, women and children empowerment, Rs 28 crores, 44 lakhs, dynamic administration, Rs 75 crores, 84 lakhs, skillful employment generation, Rs 16 crore, 65 lakhs, emphasis on infrastructure, Rs 47 crores, 40 lakhs for raising educational standards, development of sports talent, Rs 30 crores, 20 lakhs, and innovation scheme, Rs 41 crores, 86 lakhs. Rs 590 crores (83.72 percent) of funds have been spent during the years 2023–24 under the General Plan. Pune district ranks first in the state in terms of administrative recognition and disbursed funds. 12.80 percent of the funds have been spent under the Scheduled Caste Upyojana and 52.95 percent under the Tribal Upyojana. It has been planned to spend 100 percent of the funds by the end of March, Collector Dr. Deshmukh informed at this time.
