Defense Minister Shri Singh to perform Bhoomi Pujan of Rail Coach Manufacturing Unit in Raisen

Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of a rail coach manufacturing unit in Raisen on August 10, marking the beginning of a major infrastructure project with an investment of Rs 1800 crore. Ahead of the event, Chairman and Managing Director of BEML Limited, Bengaluru, Shri Shantanu Roy along with Director (Rail and Metro) Shri Rajiv Gupta, General Manager Shri Chandrashekhar and Executive Director Shri OP Singh paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at Samatva Bhavan in the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was apprised that BEML Limited is making all necessary preparations to lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art rail coach manufacturing unit in Umaria village, located in Gauharganj tehsil of Raisen district. The project is being developed in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, the Raisen district administration and other related agencies. The upcoming facility is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for around 1,575 people. Additionally, the process of land acquisition is underway to ensure seamless rail connectivity by linking the government-allotted land for the unit to the railway line.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed the BEML officials of the significant investments flowing into various sectors across Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized that the establishment of the rail coach manufacturing unit in Raisen district will provide substantial employment opportunities for local youth and bring about a positive transformation in the region’s economy. Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Shri Raghvendra Kumar Singh was also present during the meeting with the Chief Minister.
