Pune, Apr 2 (Reporter) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh; at a few places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya.
The day temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Gujarat region and Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Rayalaseema and Marathwada.
These were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Vidarbha; at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra; below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at a few places over Telangana;
at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Rayalaseema and near normal over rest parts of the country.
On Tuesday, the highest maximum temperature of 42.3°C was reported at Surendranagar (Saurashtra and Kutch) over the country.
Squally/Gusty winds prevailed at isolated locations over Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra.
Heat wave conditions prevailed in isolated pockets over Saurashtra and Kutch.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Vidarbha and Kerala and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, west Madhya Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, south Interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan,
Gujarat State, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs on Wednesday.
