Amaravati, July 22 (Reporter) The Meteorological Centre on Tuesday reported that the upper air cyclonic circulation, which was earlier located over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off south Odisha and north Coastal Andhra Pradesh, now lies over south Odisha and its neighbourhood. It extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level and tilts southeastward with height. In its daily weather report, the Centre also stated that an east-west trough is currently running roughly along Latitude 13°N, extending from north-central Karnataka to south Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 5.8 km above mean sea level. A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal around July 24, 2025, the report said. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next five days, and in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh over the next three days. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds with speeds ranging from 40–50 kmph are also likely at isolated places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next five days. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at most places, many places, or a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next seven days. During the past 24 hours, heavy rainfall was recorded in Guntur and Anakapalli districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
