Ahmedabad, May 25 (Reporter) Chennai Super Kings (CSK) piled on a commanding total of 230 for 5 in their 20 overs against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their IPL encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Sunday.
Electing to bat first, CSK were off to a flying start, with young Ayush Mhatre setting the tone with a blistering 34 off just 17 balls (3x4, 3x6), striking at 200. Devon Conway anchored the innings with a well-paced 52 off 35 balls (6x4, 2x6), providing the backbone around which the middle order rallied.
Urvil Patel continued the momentum with a swashbuckling 37 off 19 deliveries (4x4, 2x6), before being caught by Shubman Gill off Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore. Shivam Dube fell cheaply for 1 to Shahrukh Khan, but Dewald Brevis unleashed a savage assault on the GT bowlers, smashing 57 off just 23 balls (4x4, 5x6), lifting CSK past the 200-mark. Ravindra Jadeja finished unbeaten on 21 off 18 balls.
