Congress will examine cause of defeat in 2 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala- V D Satheeshan

Kannur, June 6 (Reporter) Kerala Leader of Opposition V D Satheeshan said the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and United Democratic Front (UDF) will look into the situation that led to the defeat in Thrissur and Alathur Lok Sabha seats. Satheeshan alleged that "there was a deal between BJP and CPI(M) at Thrissur over the Karuvannur Service Cooperative Bank transactions issues and the BJP had threatened to arrest all people involved in the scam including the CPI(M) district Secretary. Talking to news persons here on Thursday, Satheeshan said " the candidates for the Palakkad and Chelekkara by-elections are decided by the High Command of the party" He said "All the senior Congress leaders of the party have spoken to K Muraleedharan, after he lost to Suresh Gopi of BJP in Thrissur Lok Sabha seat. He said though the Congress has won 18 of the 20 Lok sabha seats in kerala but the defeat is being discussed as he suspected that an organized agenda was behind it to tarnish the victory of Congress-led UDF . Meanwhile, talking to news persons here, KPCC President K Sudhakaran has said " the party is ready to even hand over the KPCC president post to K Muraleedharan, and he was capable of handling all posts in the party. Sudhakaran said he would visit K Muraleedharan at Kozhikode to console him, after Muraleedharan, announced that "he abstained from the mainstream of the party"but would not quit from the party. Sudhakaran also said that his interest was to accommodate Kerala Congress (Mani) party in UDF, and we can not forget K M Mani contributions in the UDF.
