Jammu, Aug 20 (Reporter) Newly appointed Jammu and Kashmir PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra on Tuesday said that Congress will defeat communal divisive forces along with likemided parties after having an alliance with them for the next month Assembly election. Karra was accorded rousing reception by the parry workers on his arrival from Srinagar after being appointed as new JKPCC President. Accompanied by AICC General Secretary G.A. Mir, Working President JKPCC Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla besides Ch. Lal Singh, Mula Ram, Balwan Singh and other senior leaders Karra paid tributes to Rajiv Gandhi and addressed a large gathering at party headquarters. In his address Karra said that Congress will defeat communal and divisive forces along with like minded parties in order to bring the people out of the present political unrest and hardships. He said that election to the UT Assembly are being held after 10 years without restoring the statehood which is great betrayal by the BJP with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The PCC President said that Congress and likeminded parties will form the next government in the UT and BJP will face defeat because of its failures on all fronts. Karra said that unemployment is at the highest, people are being fleeced through taxes and smart meters during peak price hike and BJP is busy in vote bank politics through polarization and diversionary tactics . He said that Congress will bring the people out of the present morass under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi as people have suffered a lot for the past 10 years especially without jobs and those on daily, temporary basis have not been regularized for years. The PCC President said that Congress workers are the backbone of the party and everyone in the party would get due respect. He said that Rahul Gandhi has travelled through the length and breadth of this country to fight against the politics of hate and division and to safe guard democracy and Constitution in the country. Gandhi along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge were arriving here tomorrow and go to Srinagar to interact with the party workers and send out a strong message of unity and brotherhood. AICC General Secretary G.A. Mir in his address welcomed the decision of Congress high command for appointing an experienced leader Tariq Hameed Karra as PCC President at this crucial juncture ahead of Assembly election. He said that Karra had resigned his Lok Sabha seat against the policies of the BJP towards Jammu and Kashmir and joined the Congress party for protecting the secular democratic system in this country. Karra said that Congress party will join hands with secular parties to defeat the communal politics of BJP which is most dangerous for this part of the country. He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered the most because of the divisive politics of BJP and all sections of people have suffered a lot, especially the youth. The PCC President said that Congress President and Rahul Gandhi are personally visiting in short notice to interact with the party workers. Former Dy Chief Minister and Working President PCC Tara Chand and Working President Raman Bhalla also spoke and welcomed the new PCC President and expressed confidence that party shall emerge victorious to form the next Government with the like minded parties.
