Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi firmly believes that the progress of the nation and the states is incomplete without the advancement of women. In alignment with this vision, under the framework of “Gyan ke Sutra” (Threads of Knowledge), the Prime Minister has placed special emphasis on women empowerment. As part of this initiative, PM Shri Modi will visit Bhopal on May 31 to participate in the ‘Mahila Sammelan’ (Women’s Convention).
The ‘Mahila Sammelan’, being held to commemorate the tercentenary (300th birth anniversary) of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, will focus on women empowerment and self-reliance. More than two lakh women are expected to participate, making it a record-setting event. Dr. Yadav reviewed the preparations underway at Jamboree Ground, including traffic planning and seating arrangements. He emphasised ensuring proper seating, food, drinking water, and cleanliness at the venue, given the large number of participating women.
Dr. Yadav also informed that an exhibition will be organized at the event showcasing various activities related to women empowerment and self-reliance, particularly highlighting the efforts of self-help groups and skill development programs. The legacy of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai, a symbol of good governance, will also be honored through displays of public welfare schemes being implemented across the state to improve citizens' quality of life.
