Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired the Council of Ministers’ (Cabinet) meeting held at Mantralaya. The Cabinet approved an increase of ₹2,813.21 crore to be borne by the state government in the proposed cost of revised projects under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’, which amounts to about 13.55 percent. So far, under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ in Madhya Pradesh, 27,990 single-village taped water supply schemes, costing Rs. 20,765 crore, and 148 group water supply schemes, costing Rs. 60,786 crore, have been sanctioned. Out of these, 15,947 village schemes have been completed, while work on 12,043 schemes is in progress at various stages. A total of 8,358 schemes required revision. After a detailed examination of the proposals received from districts, a revised cost of Rs. 9,026.97 crore has been recommended for approval to ensure functional household tap connections for approximately 7 lakh rural families. The original approved cost of these projects was Rs. 6,213.76 crore.
