Raipur, Nov 23 (Reporter) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sunil Soni won the Raipur South seat by defeating Congress candidate Akash Sharma by a margin of 46,167 votes.
In Raipur South by-election, the BJP candidate has won a big victory. Sunil Soni defeated Congress' Akash Sharma by 46,167 votes. while Soni got a total of 89,220 votes, Congress candidate Akash Sharma got 43,053 votes.
Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai congratulated BJP candidate Sunil Soni for winning Raipur South assembly by-election with a huge margin. He said, "Heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to the godlike people of Raipur South for the immense love and blessings!"
Significantly, this seat was also with the BJP earlier. Raipur South assembly seat is considered as the traditional seat of BJP. BJP's Brijmohan Agarwal has won the election as many times as he has contested from here.
For the first time, BJP has fielded Sunil Soni in place of Brijmohan Agrawal. Agrawal was elected MP which led to by-election in this seat. Sunil Soni also has a long political experience. He has held the responsibility of Raipur Mayor to MP. Now this time the BJP had put all its strength to ensure victory...////...
