Baghpat (UP), Feb 22 (Reporter) A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a search at the ancestral house of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik in Hisavda village in Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, official sources said. Sources said the CBI team reached the ancestral house of Mailk at around 6 am and restricted the movement of people. The villagers said there is only one old mansion of Satya Pal Malik in village Hisavda, which is in a dilapidated condition. Sources said the CBI team also questioned Satbir Malik, alias Hitler, a member of Satya Pal Malik's family, and inquired about the assets of the former governor. "The CBI team is being assisted by the local police," they said. It may be noted that the CBI teams are carrying out searches at multiple locations across the country in connection with the bribery case at Jammu and Kashmir's Kiru Hydroelectric Project. A contract worth Rs 2,200 crore was given for the civil works against which the then governor of the state, Malik, had raised objections.
