BJP names 4 nominees from MP for RS poll

Bhopal, Feb 14 (Reporter) Madhya Pradesh’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party announced four candidates on Wednesday for election to the Rajya Sabha. Union Minister L Murugan is being fielded for the second successive term. Ujjain’s Umeshnath Maharaj is a fresh contender. The others are the BJP’s Mahila Morcha state President Maya Naroliya and Kisan Morcha Vice President Bansilal Gurjar. The deadline for submission of nomination papers for a total five seats expires on Thursday. The process commenced on February 8 with the issuance of a notification. Scrutiny is scheduled for Friday. February 20 is the last date for withdrawal of candidature. If necessary, voting will be conducted from 0900-1600 hrs on February 27. The 230-strong Assembly has 163 BJP members and 66 Congress ones. The upper house tenures of Ajay Pratap Singh, Kailash Soni, Dharmendra Pradhan and Dr Murugan (all BJP) and Rajmani Patel (Cong) are expiring on April 2...////...
