Hyderabad, June 5 (Reporter) Etala Rajender, who won the Lok Sabha seat of Malkajgiri on a BJP ticket, stated that the people of Telangana have positioned the BJP as an alternative to Congress in the state.
Speaking to the media at the state party headquarters, here on Wednesday, he mentioned that the state's electorate cast their votes with the aspiration of Narendra Modi becoming Prime Minister for the third time.
He expressed gratitude towards the people for wholeheartedly supporting BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, noting an increase in the voting percentage to 35 per cent, up from 15 per cent in the Assembly elections.
Rajender remarked that the people of Malkajgiri and Mahabubnagar have taught a lesson to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who claimed those seats as his own.
He emphasised that the BJP would leverage support from the Centre for the state's welfare, and they would strongly protest if the state government neglected its responsibilities.
Rajender highlighted that Modi is set to create history by assuming power for the third time after Jawaharlal Nehru.
He pointed out that the BJP secured the second position in all constituencies except Khammam and Mahabubabad. He questioned why Congress did not win the Malkajgiri and Mahabubnagar MP seats if it had popular support.
The BJP leader dismissed claims that the INDIA alliance would form the government at the Centre, noting that TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu contested the election in alliance with the BJP. He argued that it made no sense for Chandrababu and Nitish to join INDIA and expressed confidence that the NDA government would function comfortably for the next five years.
"It is our responsibility to fulfill the dream of providing homes to the poor in Telangana," he added...////...
