Gaya, Apr 16 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday warned opposition parties for using the constitution as a "political tool", saying no one even Bheem Rao Ambedkar himself can change it, but people were being misled by leaders of INDIA bloc that it would be changed if BJP was voted to power after ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Modi while addressing a public meeting in Gaya in favour of NDA candidates Jeetan Ram Manjhi contesting from the Gaya seat and Sushil Kumar Singh contesting from the Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat, said the constitution was being used as a "political tool" by opposition parties. They were propagating that the constitution would be changed if BJP was voted to power after ongoing Lok Sabha elections, he added.
" It is baseless and misleading that BJP will change constitution if voted to power after ongoing Lok Sabha elections", the Prime Minister said adding that no one had the courage and authority to change the constitution under any circumstances. Not only the BJP but even Baba Bheems Rao Ambedkar himself could not change the constitution, he thundered.
Modi said that people should not believe the misinformation being spread by the opposition that the constitution would be changed by the BJP. The Constitution was only a "political tool" for opposition parties but it was a sacred epic for the BJP having deep respect and emotions for it, he added.
" It is the power of the constitution that a man like him who was born in a poor and backward family, became Prime Minister of India," Modi said adding that the constitution was prepared by eminent personalities like Dr Rajendra Prasad and Bheemrao Ambedkar. It was their efforts that provided us the constitution, a kind of "holy book" for governance in the country, he noted.
Prime Minister said 80 to 90 percent of the members of the constituent assembly were Sanatani (believers in Hindu religion and philosophy) and any attack on the constitution by the opposition was like an attack on Sanatani. Modi further said that leaders of the INDIA bloc had boycotted the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya which was totally against the tradition of India. People of the country would teach a befitting lesson to them for their intolerant action, he added.
Modi also came down heavily on RJD saying it was a party symbolising corruption and jungle raj. The symbol of RJD was the lantern and Bihar had moved out of the lantern age and no one was prepared to return to that era again, he added. Even cell phones could not be charged from " Lantern", he remarked while asking young voters not to pay any attention to what RJD leaders and other leaders of India block were propagating...////...
