Bhuvanagiri and Khammam MPs meet SC panel member over Kancha Gachibowli land issue

Hyderabad, Apr 11 (Reporter) Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Khammam MP Raghuram Reddy met Vinay Limaye, a member of the Supreme Court Empowered Committee, during his inspection visit to the Kancha Gachibowli land in Serilingampally Mandal, Rangareddy district on Friday. The visit focused on the land in Survey No. 25 of Kancha Gachibowli village, which spans 2,324 acres and 5 guntas. According to revenue records, this land is registered as "Kancha Astabal Poramboke Sarkari", indicating that it is government land. The MPs stated that although the University of Hyderabad (UoH) acquired land in Survey No. 25 and adjoining survey numbers in 1975, no official alienation or transfer of ownership to UoH has taken place to date. They emphasised that the land continues to be recorded as government property. Contrary to some claims, the MPs also clarified—based on revenue and forest department records—that the land in Survey No. 25 is not classified as forest land. During the visit, MPs Kiran Kumar Reddy and Raghuram Reddy submitted a formal memorandum to Mr. Limaye, highlighting these details and seeking appropriate recognition of the land's legal status, according to a statement...////...
