Kolkata, Apr 9 (Reporter) West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose has sought a report on the Jangipur
violence as he strongly deplored the instances of such incident in Murshidabad on Tuesday following
Waqf Act protest.
In a communique from Raj Bhavan, the Governor has strongly deplored the instances of violence reported from Murshidabad against the passage of the Waqf Bill.
" The Parliament of India - the people of India - has passed a Bill," the communique said.
" The situation where vested interests foment trouble cannot be tolerated and should be curbed," he said.
The peaceful passage of Shri Ram Navami festivities showed the camaraderie among people of Bengal
and the competence of the administration, the political parties, the silent majority, the media, and all
stakeholders.
Any attempt to frustrate that needs will be put down with an iron hand, the Raj Bhavan said.
The Governor also directed the Government to take bold action immediately to curb violence and submit a report...////...
