HEALTH-LEAD BENGAL-GUV Kolkata, April 21 (Reporter) West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose was admitted to the Military Command Hospital in the city on Monday morning after he complained of chest pain and a bit of numbness on his left hand, official sources said. He was taken to the ICU and was given oxygen support to ease his pain at the Command Hospital in south Kolkata where medical tests revealed three cardiac blockages. He initially underwent an ECG test and angiogram to determine his heart condition. Sources said the medics are contemplating a by-pass surgery because inserting stents may not help for his full recovery at the age of 74. They said the Governor might be shifted to a private hospital if a by-pass surgery was required. Sources said the Governor complained about his chest pain soon after he arrived in his office. A medic from SSKM Hospital reached quickly and initial ECG reports were not satisfactory. Then he was taken to the Military Command Hospital by his official car and admitted to the ICU. Sources said it was not known when the Governor would be shifted to a private hospital for further medical support. Upon receiving news of his hospitalization, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the Command Hospital to have firsthand information. “I came to inquire about the Governor's health after learning about his admission. I am now leaving for Midnapore. I will return to Kolkata on Tuesday after my scheduled events in the district," Banerjee said after coming out of the hospital. Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has expressed concern and wished for a speedy recovery. “Deeply concerned about the health condition of Hon'ble Governor, Dr CV Ananda Bose, who is currently receiving medical care in the hospital. Wishing him swift and complete recovery. May he get discharged soon," Adhikari said on his X handler. Governor Bose recently made a hurricane tour to Malda and Murshidabad to have firsthand reports of the people affected by recent violence triggered by protests against the Waqf law. Three people were killed in Murshidabad and properties vandalised on April 11 and 12 during the protests...////...
