Karimnagar (Telangana), Mar 29 (Reporter) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday strongly criticised AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for his remarks that the RSS ideology poses a future threat to the Indian Constitution.
Bandi Sanjay accused AIMIM of being the real anti-national party and asserted that the Modi government operates with a nationalist ideology. He also emphasised that the Waqf Board Amendment Bill is receiving widespread support across the country.
He clarified that despite opposition from Owaisi and so-called pseudo-secularists, the Waqf Board Amendment Bill would soon be passed in Parliament. He reiterated that the Modi government would not hesitate to take decisive actions in the interest of the country’s welfare.
Today, Bandi Sanjay sanctioned Rs 15 lakh for a digital library for lawyers at the District Court Complex in Karimnagar. During the event, he was honoured by the legal fraternity, and several dignitaries, including Graduate MLC Anji Reddy, former Mayor Sunil Rao, Bar Association President Raj Kumar, Secretary Bethi Mahender, Bas Sathyanarayana, and Komala Anjaneyulu, participated and addressed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandi Sanjay "I have fought several battles for the people and faced numerous cases—109 cases, to be precise. I have been jailed multiple times, but it is the lawyers who have always defended me. I will extend all possible support for their welfare and will strive to secure an additional Rs 50 lakh from CSR funds for the Lawyers’ Conference."
Criticising Owaisi’s stance on the Waqf Board Amendment Bill, he remarked:
"Asaduddin Owaisi is making reckless statements against the Waqf Board Bill, but the entire nation is supporting it. No matter how many Owaisis oppose it, the bill will be passed in Parliament. It is our responsibility to protect the property and wealth of the country’s citizens. We have consulted people nationwide, and even the Parliamentary Committee has submitted its report. The bill’s approval is inevitable. Opposing it on religious grounds is unjustified and may provoke public backlash."
Highlighting the challenges faced by common citizens due to Waqf Board-related disputes, he cited an example from Karimnagar:
"A poor family has been residing in their home for generations, yet the Waqf Board suddenly declared their land as its property, revoked all approvals, and caused severe hardship. Such cases exist across the country. This is why the government has taken the responsibility of protecting people and their properties through this amendment bill."
Bandi Sanjay accused pseudo-secularists of trying to incite people by giving a communal angle to the issue.
"No matter who opposes it, this bill will not be stopped. The Modi government is committed to taking even tougher decisions for the welfare of the nation...////...
