Hyderabad, Apr 19 (Reporter) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, criticised the BRS and Congress parties for either boycotting or not contesting the GHMC local body MLC elections.
Labelling their actions as undemocratic, he said, “Only Naxalites stay away from elections,” and accused both parties of being ideological heirs of such groups.
Addressing BJP corporators and leaders at a meeting in Barkatpura, he alleged that BRS and Congress were deliberately stepping aside to help AIMIM win.
He warned corporators against fearing party whips and urged them to protect Hindu sentiments and vote decisively against AIMIM.
Bandi Sanjay asserted that 85 percent of Hyderabad's population is Hindu and angered by the alliance between BRS, Congress, and AIMIM. He claimed that the MLC elections exposed the inability of BRS and Congress to even find candidates, and predicted their downfall in the upcoming GHMC polls.
He called for united efforts to ensure the victory of BJP candidate Gowtham Rao and vowed that the saffron flag would soon fly atop the Mayor’s office. He also challenged the Congress government to release a white paper on Waqf land and spending, accusing it of neglecting poor Muslim families.
