Pilibhit (UP), Nov 14 (Reporter) Around two dozen were injured when a bus carrying labourers overturned in a ditch in Ghunchai area of Pilibhit district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place when the bus carrying labourers was going to Bihar. "Around 60 labourers from Nawabganj and nearby villages in Bareilly district were going to Bihar to work in a brick kiln. Near Balrampur outpost the bus overturned in the ditch," they said.
Rifakat, a resident of Nawabganj, who was travelling in the bus, told the police that 20 to 25 people were injured in this accident. "This accident happened due to the negligence of the bus driver who was using his mobile," he alleged.
Police sources said that the injured were taken out of the bus and admitted to the community health centre Puranpur for treatment after the accident. "The condition of two women identified as Rukhsana and Jannati Begum is said to be serious. Both were referred to a higher centre by the doctors. The remaining injured are being treated at the community health centre Puranpur and private hospitals," they said.
Police station in-charge Deepak Kumar said that the passengers travelling in the bus were injured when the bus going from Nawabganj in Bareilly to Bihar overturned. "All have been sent to the hospital. The accident is being investigated and action will be taken against the guilty driver," he said...////...
