Shimla, July 19 (Reporter) Alliance Air has announced the cancellation of its flights to Shimla and Kullu due to poor weather conditions, emphasizing that passenger safety remains the airline's top priority, an official said on Friday. Both airports are Visual Flight Rules (VFR) facilities, requiring a minimum visibility of 5,000 meters, a standard that is often compromised during the monsoon season. Consequently, flights to these destinations are being evaluated and cancelled on a day-to-day basis depending on the prevailing weather conditions. Despite these temporary disruptions, Alliance Air reassured passengers that there is no long-term plan to withdraw services on these routes. "All efforts are being made to ensure that flights operate to Kullu and Shimla airports whenever possible," stated a spokesperson. The airline remains committed to maintaining regular services to these destinations and is actively monitoring weather patterns to resume flights as soon as conditions permit. In contrast, flights to Dharamshala are continuing as scheduled. Alliance Air's operations to this destination have not been affected, underscoring the airline's dedication to providing reliable service across its network.
