Chennai, Oct 7 (Reporter) Asserting that full cooperation was extended and all facilities were made by
the Tamil Nadu government more than sought by the IAF for the Air Show, Chief Minister M K Stalin condoled the deaths of five people due to heat wave and dehydration and announced a solatium of Rs five lakh each to their families.
In a statement here on Monday, he said the police, fire services and health departments, besides
the Greater Chennai Corporation worked in coordination and made all arrangements for the Air
Show at Marina yesterday.
Since, the public turn out was more than expected, several people, who were returning after the
Air Show, were put to hardships in reaching to their vehicles and boarding the government transport facilities.
Mr Stalin assured that additional facilities and extra care would be taken while organising such
events in future.
Stating that five precious lives were lost due to searing heat conditions and other medical reasons,
Mr Stalin expressed deep anguish and grief and announced the solatium from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund...////...
