Srinagar, Sep 7 (Reporter) Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) led by jailed Member of Parliament, Abdul Rashid Sheikh aka Engineer Rashid released the party manifesto on Saturday pledging for unconditional release of all the detainees languishing in different jails in the country. “AIP vowed to get the release of all the innocent youth who are languishing in different jails across the country will be set free besides will revoke Public Safety Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) if voted to power,” Chief Spokesperson of the AIP Inam-un-Nabi told media persons in Srinagar on Saturday . Engineer Rashid, serving the jail on the charges for terrorism funding case, won the Lok Sabha elections from Baramulla constituency defeated among others the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone with a huge margin. The AIP manifesto has also promised to restore the age-old traditional “Darbar Move” which was suspended by the Lieutenant Governor administration several years ago. The party has also promised to ban the liquor sale and will provide medical examination tests in the hospitals free of cost across Jammu and Kashmir. Nabi said that “AIP will also work on restoration of schemes and Autonomy of University of Kashmir (KU) if it forms the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.” The party also promised to provide free computers to the students who had passed 8th standard. The party also promised to work for safeguarding Kashmiri students and traders working and studying outside Jammu and Kashmir in different parts of India. Nabi said that AIP will open an office in Delhi and besides create a grievance cell to help the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He announced the names of several candidates who are going to contest the upcoming elections from north Kashmir including Engineer Muneer Khan will contest from Uri, former DDC member Mohammad Muzaffar Dar will contest from Rafiabad, Advocate Mursaleen will contest from Sopore, Advocate Dawood will be filed from Lollab, Peerzada Firdous from Kupwara, Mohammad Akbar will contest from Pattan, Jahangir Khan will contest from Khan sahib. He also announced that their candidate from the prestigious assembly segment of Lal Chowk will be Gazanfer Ali and a Kashmiri pandit Ashok Kumar Raina who joined the AIP will contest from Chamb in Jammu and Adil Nazir Khan from Tangmarg...////...
