Active member of Bishnoi gang killed in encounter with UP STF

Meerut, Feb 26 (Reporter) An active member of infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang was killed in an encounter with the Gautam Buddha Nagar unit of the Special Task Force (STF) and Meerut police in Mudhali area of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. An official spokesman here said that two STF sleuths were also injured in the encounter and have been admitted to the hospital. "On October 22, 2023, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang and a contract killer Jitendra alias Jeetu along with his accomplices shot dead Pramod Kasana in Ghaziabad district," he said. The spokesman said that Jeetu was absconding since then after which a reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced on his arrest by the Police Commissionerate level in 2023. He also carry a reward of Rs 5,000 announced by the Haryana police." The spokesman said that on Tuesday night the STF team received a tip off that Jeetu, a resident of Jhajjar district in Haryana, was going towards Meerut. "Acting on the information the STF team along with Mudhana police cordoned off the area. After sometime two motorcycle-borne miscreants were spotted by the STF team," he said. He said that when challenged the miscreants opened fire on the police team and in retaliatory firing one of them sustained bullet injury. "He was taken to the community health centre Kharkhoda in Meerut district where doctors declared him dead after examination," he said. The spokesman said that the slain criminal was identified as Jitendra alias Jeetu. "The 42-year-old slain criminal entered the world of crime and was convicted in three different cases. In one of the double murder case in Haryana, he was sentenced to life imprisonment on February 3. 2018," he said. He said that in 2023 Jeetu was granted parole in the case by the court. "However, after coming out of the jail, Jeetu jumped the parole and fled. During this period he started working for Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Gaudara gang. A total of 10 cases were lodged against the slain criminal," the spokesman added...////...
