Chennai, Jan 12 (Reporter) A total 12,000 tickets were sold on the opening day
on Sunday as ticket sales for the second T20 international between India and
England to be held here on January 25 at the M A Chidambaram Stadium.
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) sources told UNI this evening that all
the tickets were booked online.
There was no sale of tickets in the stadium counters as the BCCI had already
banned it to avoid crowding.
The sale of tickets, priced between Rs 1,500 to Rs 12,000, could be booked
done only online, the sources said.
The stadium has a capacity of around 35,000 to 45,000 and the total number
of tickets sold will be known just before the match as which pitch will be used
for the contest.
Two pitches will be readied for the match and the teams would decided after
studying it after which only it could be known the number of tickets exactly
sold, the sources said.
Tickets were available exclusively through online platforms and patrons could
book their tickets either via "District by Zomato' Mobile App or through the
official website.
The entry gates will be opened two (2) hours prior to the matches...////...
