Mumbai, Aprl 24 (Reporter) Mumbai crime branch along with Cyber cell of the city police, probing the threat emails received by NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, the son of former state minister Baba Siddique shot last year, have traced them to a server located in a country near the US, police sources said.
The sender does not appear to be linked to any gang, police sources on Thursday.
The sender of the mails claims to be linked to fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s ‘D Company’.
Police said prima facie the person sending the mails doesn’t appear to be linked to any gang.
Police are, however, conducting a further technical probe to confirm whether the server they have tracked is the one used by the accused and not one obtained via Virtual Private Network (VPN).
The Bandra police station had earlier registered an offence after former MLA received a death threat via email.
The sender had claimed that he belonged to the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim gang and that Zeeshan Siddique would be killed the way as his father was. A demand of Rs 10 crore was also made...////...
