Vijayawada, Mar 12 (Reporter) Reiterating that YSRCP will be the voice of the voiceless, Party President and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said the Party took birth out of struggle and fighting against injustice.
Speaking at the Party Formation Day function held at the Party office here on Wednesday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said of the 15 years, the Party was in the Opposition for ten years and has been with the people speaking on their behalf. The Party owns up people’s plight as its own and has been with the people always.
Thanking the cadre for the support throughout the journey, the Party President revealed that concurrently to the Party Formation Day, we are also protesting against the government failure to clear the fees reimbursement dues putting students in hardships.
Ten out of the 15 years after formation, the Party was in the Opposition and has given a fitting reply highlighting the failures of the government. Sitting in the Opposition is not new and in the next bout we will be bouncing back to power, he observed amid cheers from the gathering.
"The incumbent coalition government has to clear Vidya Deevena and Vidya Vasathi amount to a tune of Rs Rs 7,100 crore for both the years put together and it has been neglecting it. The government has allocated a meager Rs 2,600 crore putting the students’ career in jeopardy," the Ex-Chief Minister criticised.
The YSRCP being the voice of the people, has taken up the issue along with students and parents on the Formation Day, he noted, adding the coalition government has failed on all the fronts. Farmers, women, youth and all sections feel cheated as the Super Six promises made during elections were not being honoured. Education, health, agriculture, and governance have been badly affected during the past ten months, he flayed.
Earlier, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paid floral tributes to Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy who was the former Chief Minister of the combined AP state and father of Jagan Mohan Reddy and hoisted the Party flag.
