Nellore, May 31 (Reporter) The Opposition in Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP has alleged that the Naidu- headed government is arresting leaders illegally and indulging in politically motivated persecution.
YSRCP state coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy told media here on Saturday that the Naidu-led coalition government was taking to vindictive politics. He asserted that within a year, the government’s "misrule" has driven the people of Andhra Pradesh to the brink, with public discontent mounting against its authoritarian practices.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy alleged the government was fabricating cases to silence YSRCP leaders who questioned its failures.
He said that minor, bailable offences were being maliciously converted into non-bailable ones, including the misuse of SC/ST atrocity laws, to prolong harassment.
“If we had resorted to such tactics during our tenure, CM Chandrababu Naidu would have been jailed within three months of the YSRCP coming to power,” Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy remarked, warning that the consequences of these "fabricated cases" will be severe for the ruling coalition.
The YSRCP senior leader highlighted the systematic destruction of state institutions, particularly the police, which he claimed have been reduced to tools of political vengeance. “The police are acting like goons, openly assaulting citizens, as seen in Tenali, where youths were brutally beaten with lathis,” he said, condemning such acts as barbaric and unacceptable.
He urged the government to cease its vendetta politics and focus on governance, warning that continued atrocities would lead to serious consequences.
